A Bit About Us
UMaine Fly Fishing Club was founded in 2019 by Wyatt Ford and Kyle Curtis, who wanted to spread the knowledge and skills of fly fishing to the rest of the UMaine campus. We are dedicated to spreading knowledge of not only fly fishing but the importance of preserving native fisheries in Maine and abroad.
Meet Our Club Officers
Wyatt Ford
President
Wyatt is one of the co-founders and President of the club. He is a dedicated trout angler, and almost exclusively fishes for coldwater species. He has fished in Maine, Massachusetts, Québec, and New Brunswick. His favorite fly is a royal coachman, and his favorite species to catch is landlocked salmon.
Kyle Curtis
Vice President
Hi, I’m Kyle, I’m from southern Maine and my favorite fish to catch on the fly has to be the striped bass. I have also loved fishing northern ponds for the native brook trout out of the float tubes while using my all-time favorite fly, the Hornberg. I have been fly fishing in Maine since I was very young and I am excited to help others get into fly fishing.
Justin DelMonico
Treasurer
Justin has fished in Massachusetts, Alaska, and Maine for coldwater fish species. His favorite lure is a Joe's Fly. His favorite species to catch is brook trout.
Matthew DelMonico
Secratary
Matthew has fished in Massachusetts, Alaska, and Maine for coldwater fish species. His favorite lure is a Panther Martin. His favorite species to catch is brook trout.
